Background of the study
Performance of students in the academic work differ despite the fact that they are taught by the same teacher and in the same environment for the past years and up till today one of the major problem found to be affecting our educational processes and system is that of poor study habits of students.

The factor contributing to differences in achievement among students may be the variation in their ability to organize their work and stud effectively/
Study habit to me are the things a student prioritized and allot a time for it. Dele 2002” defined study habit as the actions (such as reading, taking notes, or holding study. Several writes like English 1958, “air strong 1967, Crow 1967, Robinsm 1970, defined study habit as systematic patterns formed and specifically directed at learning to pass examination and get better grades.
According to Air Strong, he stressed that study in “hard work” and that before that gates of academic excellence, the higher goals have place sweet study. Therefore, it is very important for an individual to achieve good performance. Among the other factor such as wrong choice of subject, poor motivation, poor adjustment of institution of learning, poor health condition, poor study habit seems to have most direct relationship of some factors affecting performance and Akintoye 1974 in his work on casual relationship of factor causing poor performance isolated study habit as closely relating to academic performance.
Statement of Problem
Student of comparable academic ability aptitude and socio-economic background are found to differ on their academic performance and this variation may depend on differences in their study habit patterns.Student behaviours are made of various activities which students are required to master through practice in other to study effectively in effective study habit is an handicap to student who might not be able to get from his study.
Akinboye (1998) has made it clear that some study leads mater at work to be done while undesirable study habit lead to ineffective study and consequently the students gets little from his studies.
